Desigualdad laboral en Loja: una comparativa del bienestar entre trabajadores formales e informales

El análisis global revela que, en promedio, el 74 % de las personas con empleo reportan estar satisfechas con su situación laboral, cifra que asciende al 77 % en América Latina. En este sentido, esta investigación plantea evaluar la relación entre la informalidad y el bienestar laboral en el año 2023 en Loja, Ecuador, a través de técnicas econométricas como el modelo de selección de brechas, con la finalidad de proponer implicaciones de política pública enfocadas en el bienestar de los individuos. Los resultados revelan que no existe una diferencia estadísticamente significativa entre el bienestar de los trabajadores formales e informales, a pesar de que los trabajadores formales presentan un salario promedio más elevado. Asimismo, la percepción de autonomía laboral y la mejora en la salud física se asocian con un aumento del bienestar laboral. Finalmente, no se observa una brecha de bienestar, dado que no existen diferencias significativas entre las características observables de ambos grupos. Consecuentemente, se recomienda implementar programas destinados a mejorar la calidad del trabajo que incluyan tanto a trabajadores formales como informales. Estas iniciativas deberían enfocarse en aumentar la afiliación a la seguridad social para los trabajadores informales, ofrecer capacitación profesional continua, y promover políticas de protección laboral más inclusivas y el fomento de la equidad salarial.
