Abstract

The political situation, in which the convenience or not of signing a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the United States
is discussed, motivated the Central Bank of Ecuador (ECB) to build an Applied General Balance Model (MEGA) ) to anticipate
the effects of the signing of this trade agreement and to propose alternative scenarios to identify the best conditions for
entry to it; before which, the elaboration of a Social Accounting Matrix (MCS) was a prerequisite.
