Abstract

The most direct and obvious primary objective of dollarization is to end the risk of devaluation; and, in doing so,
dollarization has all the benefits of emerging from a situation in which a speculative process with the axis in the devaluation
of the national currency could have plunged a country. The potential benefit of dollarization in the short term is this: that of
stabilizing a situation that is highly destabilized due to a currency crisis.
