Abstract

Gender inequality or discrimination is a phenomenon that is expressed in multiple dimensions. From the economic point of view, much of the research focuses on the analysis of income inequality in the labor market. This study puts in perspective the labor dynamics of gender in Ecuador, emphasizing the evolution of labor conditions in terms of stability and labor participation, as well as other factors that intervene in the access to the labor market, as a fundamental step to contextualize institutional efforts and identify pending challenges of gender equality.
