Estimación de ingresos de la población ecuatoriana una propuesta desde la regresión cuantílica

Abstract

The present research is oriented to determine the variables that explain the behavior of the income, allow to model it and therefore to estimate it. For which a quantile regression procedure was developed using the national survey on employment, unemployment and underemployment. The evidence suggests that in Ecuador there is high incomes in a small group of the population and that they are generally identified as entrepreneurs who are capital owners (land and technology mainly), as well as the managing staff of companies, whose income can be explained by the  rofitability that they contribute in their companies, or in the fact that they themselves are the ones who define their salary.
